Service
Roof Moss Removal
Heavy moss holds water against tiles, freezes in winter and damages your roof. We scrape, soft-wash and biocide-treat — never blast — so tiles last and the moss takes years to return.
What’s included
Every visit, as standard.
- Hand-scraped, never pressure-blasted
- Long-lasting biocide treatment
- Gutters and downpipes cleared after
- Photo report on completion
How it works
Booking is simple.
- Step 01
Free roof inspection
We assess the tile type, moss coverage and access requirements, then quote a fixed price with optional gutter clear-out.
- Step 02
Hand-scrape & soft-wash
Heavy moss is hand-scraped off — never pressure-blasted. The tiles are then soft-washed to remove residue and surface algae.
- Step 03
Long-lasting biocide treatment
A residual biocide treatment is applied to inhibit regrowth, typically lasting 3–5 years. Gutters and downpipes cleared on completion.
FAQs
Questions, answered.
Why not just pressure-wash the roof?
Pressure washing strips the protective surface layer off concrete and clay tiles, leading to faster moss return and shortened tile life. Hand-scraping and biocide is the proper method.
How long does the treatment last?
Most properties stay moss-free for 3–5 years after a full clean and biocide treatment. We offer a top-up biocide service every couple of years to extend that.
Will moss come back?
Eventually, yes — moss spores are unavoidable. The biocide significantly slows regrowth, and the slope/exposure of your roof affects how quickly it returns.
Do you clear the gutters afterwards?
Yes — gutter clear-out is included in the price. Scraped moss can otherwise block downpipes and cause overflow, so we never leave that step out.
